This page is based on Derek Sivers’ Now movement. It is designed to be a quick look into what is, and has been, going on in my life.
đ Living
My wife and I are living on the Sunshine Coast with our dog Barry. We have a pretty quiet life, mostly spent in each other’s company watching TV, going for walks or spending time with our friends/family. We’ve recently started a 6 week challenge at our gym to push ourselves a little harder, and I have been getting more and more into bouldering. Currently at a V3/V4 level, and only indoors, but I’m sure in no time I’ll be looking into local spots to tempt fate.
đģ Working
I’m currently working as a Systems Technician at Open, our TechOps department includes the DevOps team, which has allowed me to build my skills towards my next career goal with a supportive team. Most recently I’ve been working on improving our user experiences, focusing on the Database connection flow - SSO authentication via AWSCLI & user management via Terraform. Still working through the problem, but when it clicks, there will definitely be a post about it, so watch this space đ
đ Reading
I give 5 stars to pretty much everything I read, and I’m proud of it - reading is an enjoyable hobby for a reason! If you want to see what I’ve got my eye/ears glued to (after I finally catch up on the cosmere), check out my GoodReads or Fable accounts
-
đ Current Obsessions
- đ Isles of the Emberdark: With The Fires of December yet to be released, this book marks my checkered flag for Sanderson’s work - I am enjoying it a lot
-
đŽ Favourite(s) of 2026
- đ Wind and Truth: The conclusion to the first half of the Stormlight Archive left me both inspired and empty - what do you mean I’m going to have to wait for books 6-10 to find out what happens to my man Kaladin. From slave to demi-god is a crazy glow up for Mr ‘and for my boon’
- đĒ The Lies of Locke Lamora: There is so much intrigue in this world, and despite finding out NOTHING ABOUT EMBERGLASS, I absolutely adored this book. My wife and I read it together, and while it was very (overly) descriptive at times, we were obsessed with the story. Sure, Locke is a loveable main character, but - MY. BOI. JEAN. TANNIN. goat.
đŦ Watching
TV shows are my household’s biggest media consumption by far, we will often throw stuff on in the background while going about our day-to-day activities
- đē Current Obsessions
- đŠē The Pitt
- đŠģ Scrubs (2026)
- đ Project Hail Mary (Fist my Bump!)
đšī¸ Gaming
I have a massive backlog of games, so naturally I will replay the old favourites instead. When the urge does strike to play something new, I’ll typically pick up a story-based game I can sink my teeth into.
- đŽ Current Obsessions
- đ Arc Raiders: I don’t typically like games with proximity chat, but there’s something special about this one. I’m typically just a clanker buster, but have been known to win a 1v1 here and there
đ§ Listening
I’m not vibing anything in particular at the moment, just sorta throwing on my liked songs whenever I want some background noise. Check out my Last.fm account for more
